SHILLONG, FEB 3: The West Khasi Student Union (WKSU) central body has demanded that  the  Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL) should reduce the load shedding at Nongstoin town and its adjoining area.
WKSUÂ central body general secretary D Sunn criticized the unequal distribution of electricity in the district headquarter caused because of the load shedding done by the MePDCL. He said this has affected the general public especially students who are preparing their examination.
“The load shedding by the corporation is a prejudice and unacceptable to the local people as we have found that as per schedule comparing with others localities it is more here “, said Sun.
Sunn demand the MePDCL to review the heavy load shedding which have been notified through news papers and see that equal hour load of shedding is done in proper way  either city, towns or villages so that the people would get the same benefits.
Sunn warned that the union will react properly if the corporation do  not  respond to its demand.- By Our Reporter
