The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on Thursday requested the authority of the Sacred Heart Boys’ Higher Secondary School to correct the spelling mistake of Mawlai printed in the school uniforms.

Mawlai has been misspelled as ‘Mawali’.

In a letter to the Principal of the school, general secretary of the KSU Mawlai Circle Eddie Malngiang said there is wrong spelling in badges of the School printed in the uniform particularly in cardigans.

“In respect to this mistake, the Union would request you and your school management to correct the spelling mistake with immediate effect,” he said.

“To point out here, the mistake is a misspelling of Mawlai where it was spelled Mawali. We take this opportunity to urge you to kindly make a correction in this regard so as to avert any confusion to the general public and also to avoid any bad reputation to the good school,” Malngiang wrote in the letter.
