KSU warns educational agencies

SHILLONG, MAR 30: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Bangalore unit today warned various Karnataka and Meghalaya based educational agencies for allegedly duping students from the state.

“We strongly warn that if such educational agencies continue to dupe our students, we will be compelled to take stern action against them,” KSU Bangalore unit president Rymphang Nongsiej said in a statement.

He said that the union has observed that various educational agencies used to send students from Meghalaya to Karnataka especially Bangalore with the assurance to provide admission in good educational institutions.

Nongsiej, however, alleged that these agencies were found to be fooling the students in the name of education loans just to draw money from them.

He said that many of such students from the state have been duped because when they reached Bangalore, they found themselves enrolled in educational institutions which were yet to get government recognition.

According to him, there was need to create a deterrent against such kinds of activities by these agencies to ensure students’ interest are protected.
