Lajong colts held again

DSC04299SHILLONG, MARCH 08: Shillong Lajong FC drew their second consecutive match in the Under-20 I-League when they were held 1-1 by Sesa Football Academy in the afternoon game at the JRD Tata Complex in Jamshedpur on Friday.

According to information reaching here, both the teams started the first half brightly, but poor finishing ensured both the sides went into the break all square. The second half though was much better as both teams pushed to break the deadlock in an attempt the grab the all important three points.

It was Sesa who took the lead when a crisp shot was accidentally deflected by Lajong defender Nim Dorjee into his own goal. After the goal, the Shillong team upped the ante, repeatedly raiding the rival goal, which culminated in the all important equalizer when Lalruatfela netted home in the 76th minute.

Shillong Lajong will play their third match against Air India on Sunday. They had earlier drawn their first match against another Goan outfit Churchill Brothers. (By Our Reporter)
