Lajong wins a thriller, moves two places up

Shillong, Nov 4:  Shillong Lajong FC came from behind to beat second placed Prayag  United SC 3-2 in the round four match of the I-League at JN Sports Complex on  chilly Sunday afternoon.
With this win Lajong has collected seven points from four matches and has moved  two places up where as United has dropped two placed in the point tally of the I-
League.
It was the visitor who opened the account in the very fourth minute of the game through Ranti Martins Soleye’s perfect header which came off a
Carlos Hernandez Valverde free kick from the 34 yard arena. Referee Rahul Dsa  awarded the free kick when young Samuel Shadap brought down Vineeth CK just outside the goal  mouth.
The visitor joy lasted for about 16 minutes as in the 20th minute unmarked Gbeneme  Friday volleyed the cross ball from Sushil Kr. Singh, over the visiting custodian
Subrata Paul which went dipping down into the goal. In the 28th minute of the game referee Rahul Dsa of WIFA, caught Wailadmi Passah
handling the ball inside the box and awarded a penalty kick. Taking the spot kick Ranti Martins Soleye made no mistake to find the back of the net and gave Kolkota
side a lead.
With the game turning high voltage with the boys from both the side  charged up referee gave a spot kick in favour of local side after he caught Rasaq
Olidemeji Bello bringing down Lalramluaha Hmar inside the box. Taking the kick  Friday made no mistake to beat Paul and equalized the match for the second time.
Changing over the side it was local who put pressure over the rivals and managed  the three points when Boithang Haopki, who had just substituted Skipper Renedy
Singh a minute back, took a power full shot at the goal hitting the net and became a
match winner.
