Langsning draws again

langsningBANGALORE, APR 18: Langsning FC continued its share of draw as they level the score against Bhawanipore FC 3-3 in the 2nd leg of the final phase of 2nd division I-League being played at Bangalore Football Stadium on Thursday.

With this Langsning is in the third place with 9 points while Bhawanipore has moved a step ahead to second place with ten points in their kitty.

It was the Kolkata side that moved the score card in the 14th minutes of the game when Hudson Lima Silva scored through the free kick from 30 yard arena. Their joy, however, was short lived when Langsning skipper Daniel equalized the match two minutes later when he converted Marlangki Suting cross ball home.

Four minutes later unmarked Marlangki Suting on receiving a ball from central line put it straight into the opposition box giving the hills side a lead.

As the match went into injury time of the first half, Dipendu Dowary set home a cross ball from Hudson Lima Siva making the score board read 2-2 at the lemon break. Changing over the side Bhawanipore start off the game aggressively and earned a spot kick in the 49th minute when referee MB Santosh Kumara of Kerala caught Bijoy Das bringing down Silva inside the box.  Langsning custodian Prem Kumar, however, denied the opposition the goal when grabbed the ball after judging it well.

Three minutes later Joel Sunday, dribbled the ball from the mid field into the box and gave  Langsning a lead once again. Under pressure Bhawanipore brought in their star strike Marco Barreto, and the rhythm of the game changed as Langsning went into a defensive even as its skipper Daniel played the role of a stopper.

Silva in the 69th minutes of the game shot an equalizer when he tapped home after receiving a cross ball from Barreto.

Langsning once started playing an attacking game. In the 80th minute Joel shot missed the target by few inches. In the 82nd minutes of the game referee Santosh Kumar caught Bahwanipore defender Gurpreet Singh bringing down L. Nabachandra Singh inside the box and awarded a spot kick in favour of Shillong side.

Joel Sunday gave a lollypop shot which rival custodian Amit Singha Roy had no difficulty in saving the ball from penetrating into the goal.-By Suraj Joshi
