The Court of Special Judge (POCSO) Jowai has convicted and sentenced one Lucky Dhar to 3 years rigorous imprisonment for his involvement in sexually assaulting a ten-year-old girl in West Jaintia Hills in 2019.
A fine of Rs 5,000 was also imposed by the court.
The FIR was filed on April 3, 2019. A case was registered at Amlarem Police Station Vide Amlarem PS Case No. 11(4)2019 under Section 7/8/18 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act (POCSO), 2012 against the accused Dhar.
On completion of the investigation WP Inspector P.E. Marwein has filed a chargesheet against the Dhar U/s 7/8/18 of POCSO Act for committing sexual assault on a minor child.
