Manager kidnapped in Tura

SHILLONG, APR 3:  Gautam Construction Company’s manager Rakesh Pandey was kidnapped late Thursday night from his home cum office at Chasingre. The company had been given contract to build the upcoming Inter State Bus Terminus in Tura.

Shockingly the kidnapping took place even as four security guards had been posted in the office cum residence of the company. The guards heard nothing as they were fast asleep.

According to the report, Pandey, who hails from Rajasthan, was kidnapped by two unidentified people who came in bikes to his house armed 2.9 mm pistols and knocked at the door past midnight. When he opened the door, the two overpowered him and took him away.

According to witnesses the two then proceeded towards Rongram. Incidentally no demand note has been given to the company or anybody from the company. – By Our Reporter
