Meghalaya CM kicks start election campaigning in Garo Hills

CM - MARCH 23 (1)SHILLONG, MAR 23: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Tuesday kick started his campaign tour from Adokgre in North Garo Hills for GHADC election slated for April 12.

Adokgre, named by late PA Sangma as Chenanggre or land of victory, has always been the ground for NPP to launch its election campaign.

MLA of Kharkutta Rupert Momin along with party leaders Timothy D Shira, Thomas Sangma, Marcuise Marak received CM, who arrived at Adokgre after attending an official programme from Gujarat.

Addressing the election rally to drum up support for Kharkutta candidate Edbirth D Shira, Conrad K Sangma reminded the gathering about the commitment NPP has for the people of the state.

He also said that (L) PA Sangma had a vision for the people of Garo Hills and Meghalaya,  as a party NPP is working along to fulfil his dreams.

NPP made various attempts to reform the district councils and will continue to do so.

He also said that GHADC is in a mess as Congress party failed to make necessary reforms.

NPP is working to create the much needed development for the State and it is truly committed for the people.

Urging the people to vote for NPP, CM said that NPP has aided the council and support it with advance royalty being paid to them. NPP wants to resolve the issues of council and ensure that it is empowered and functions of its own.

He said that NPP is structuring the council with different technological intervention to ensure that their is financial stability in the council.

He also lashed out at Congress for creating financial mess in council by appointing staffs, more than required during Alphonse Sangma’s tenure as CEM of GHADC during the congress regime.

He urged the people to vote for NPP by asserting majority to overhaul and create a better working atmosphere in GHADC.
