SHILLONG, MAY 9: An Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) militant managed to give the police a slip while his outfit colleague was arrested during an operation on Friday night in Pyndengsohsaw area in South West Khasi hills district.
During the operation the police team came across two HNLC militants travelling on a motorcycle while they were planning to go down to Bangladesh, a senior police official said. He said, on seeing the police party at a place called Ladbakli, the duo immediately jumped from the bike.
As a result, the militant identified as Wansing Mylliem Umlong from Pyndengsohsaw managed to escape taking advantage of the thick jungle nearby, but his colleague identified as Moh was arrested. Police have also seized the bike.- By Our Reporter
