Militants die after mob fury

SHILLONG, FEB 2:  The two United A’chik Liberation Army (UALA) militants who were beaten up by the people in Darenggre village when they went to demand money from one villager succumbed to their injuries. The first militant Sanjoy Ch Sangma died at about 10 pm on Saturday and the second one Bijoy Ch Sangma died at about 4 am On Sunday..

The two cadres who were from the UALA were beaten up severely when they went to the village. They were then handed over to the police who rushed them to the Civil Hospital for treatment, but succumbed to the injuries. The two were also caught with arms and ammunition.

In a huge twist to the story, sources confirmed that the two militants are Bangladesh nationals and Sanjoy Ch Sangma was a notorious criminal along the international border. He was involved in kidnapping of traders from the Gasuapara region. According to reports, he was about 48 years of age and belonged to Sherpur in Bangladesh.- By Our Reporter
