SHILLONG, AUG 29: Seven passengers were injured when unknown miscreants assaulted passengers in an Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) bus at Umran Dairy, Ri Bhoi district late Wednesday night. Police sources informed that a group of 10-15 unknown miscreants entered the bus at around 11 pm and assaulted the passengers without any provocation.
The bus was on its way to Barak valley district of Assam from Guwahati. Police sources said that seven passengers received injuries when unknown people started assaulting them and forced them to kneel down on their knees (Uthak Baithak).
After assaulting passengers, the miscreants allowed the bus to proceed to Guwahati. Police has registered a case and has started its investigation to nab the culprits.- By Our Reporter
