M’laya records 64 new cases

SHILLONG, JAN 7: The state on Friday recorded 64 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total active cases to 262.

 

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said 55 cases were detected from East Khasi Hills district, 3 each from Ri Bhoi and West Garo Hills and 1 each from North Garo Hills, West Jaintia Hills and West Khasi Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 14 persons have recovered from the viral infection of which 11 are from East Khasi Hills and 1 each from East Jaintia Hills, Ri Bhoi and West Garo Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 85,085 COVID-19 cases out of which 262 are active cases, 83,338 recovered and 1,485 deaths.

 

East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 220  followed by West Garo Hills 22, West Jaintia Hills 7, Ri Bhoi 7, South West Khasi Hills 3 and 1 each in East Jaintia Hills, North Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills.
