SHILLONG, APRIL 23: The Guwahati based 1st. Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) successfully conducted a joint mock drill exercise on “Earthquake Disaster” in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) at Williamnagar Civil Hospital on Tuesday.
The exercise on the day witnessed a good participation from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Medical, Civil Defense and Home Guards, MPRO and other line departments besides the school students.
While debriefing the exercise, East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner and the Chairman of the DDMA, Swapnil Tembe, stressed on the need to remain alert and prepared to face the challenges of any kind of disaster.
