Modi’s effigy burnt

TURA, MAY 21: The Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress burnt the effigy of prime minister Narendra Modi for making derogatory remark during his foreign tour. Modi had said, “Earlier, you felt ashamed of being Indian” in Shanghai, China and Seoul, South Korea.

The effigy was burnt in front of the BJP office in Tura. “Youth Congress will not tolerate any such comments that are derogatory to the dignity and pride of the country”, said Richard Marak, president of MPYC.

The youth Congress body has sought an apology from Modi to the nation. “As for the BJP’s Congress free Meghalaya campaign, we would like to say that Meghalaya was, is and always will be BJP free because the good people of Meghalaya does not subscribe to the communal politics of BJP”,  Marak added.- By Our Reporter
