MSLSA organizes NLA

SHILLONG, JUL 10: The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority on Saturday organised the National Lok Adalat in all the districts of the state except West Jaintia Hills District.

 

A total of 319 pre-litigation cases and 345 pending cases were taken up for settlement during the National Lok Adalat.

 

The total number of cases taken up were 664 and of which 133 cases and an amount of Rs 40,49,334.3 only was settled in the National Lok Adalat.

 

The Lok Adalat was held under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and under the patronage of the Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court, Biswanath Somadder, who is also the Patron-in-Chief of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) and under the supervision of the High Court Judge and Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, Justice RV More.
