NCP slams GVK EMRI

SHILLONG, APR 23: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has slammed the alleged pathetic services extended by the GVK EMRI – 108 ambulance stationed at Williamnagar in East Garo Hills District.

In a statement issued here on Monday, NCP vice president Vijay Raj alleged that the 108 ambulance had denied to take the daughter of the party’s candidate Krinilla Marak, who after became very ill was referred to a hospital at Guwahati.

“An Ambulance bearing registration No ML01-7514 arrived but denied to take the patient to Guwahati citing that the tyres of the ambulance are not good and moreover the condition of the Ambulance is not such that it may reach Guwahati,” he said.

Marak wife of Late Jonathone N Sangma and candidate for the upcoming Assembly election to Williamnagar had to arrange for a private vehicle.

Condemning the GVK EMRI authorities for not maintaining their ambulances properly, Raj also accused the GVK EMRI for fooling the public by just showing their presence in Williamnagar but in reality, not serving.

“It seems that the GVK EMRI authorities are disposing their vehicle in the rural areas just to show their presence only,” he stated.
