SHILLONG, DEC 11: The Nongkrem Constituency People’s Forum (NCPF) will felicitate all the 29 elected MDCs of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) at a function to be held in Smit village on Wednesday.
The decision was taken as a mark of appreciating the role of all the MDCs irrespective of their political affiliations in ensuring the important Bills are passed by the House.
These related to the Khasi Social Custom of Lineage, Inner Line Permit (ILP), Khasi Social Custom of Clan Administration and Subordinate Council of Chiefs and Headmen.
Welcoming the move, KHADC Chief HS Shylla said, “The successful passing of these Bills is indeed due to the unity of the MDCs despite political differences, the act of which deserve appreciation.”
