Ngos deride NPP

SHILLONG, SEPT 19:  The NPP has come under severe criticism from Garo hills based ngos for what they said is the party’s half-hearted propaganda that it will not field any non-tribal candidate.

GSU CEC, Tura, FAF, FKJGP, (Garo hills zone) AYWO and ADE leaders derided NPP and said by fielding non-tribal candidates for the upcoming GHADC polls, the NPP has proved to be another political party interested only in political games and political propaganda.

The ngos said the NPP has succumbed to the politics of the number of MDCs and MLAs it can garner. The leaders said Garo hills people are sore about the fact that the non-tribals are being fielded by political parties and the fact that non-tribals have managed to intrude and penetrate in the indigenous peoples’ affair by participating and involving themselves in the GHADC.

The leaders said that they are highly disappointed with the NPP as with the Congress and therefore appealed to NPP to withdraw its non-tribal candidate.-By Our Reporter
