Nine judges reshuffled

SHILLONG, MAY 8: In a judicial reshuffle of lower court, nine judges have been transferred on Wednesday after a notification was issued by the Meghalaya high court registrar general.

The district and sessions judge of East Garo hills district, W. Diengdoh has been transferred as district and sessions judge of West Garo hills district while the present district and sessions judge of East Khasi hills district AM Ripnar has transferred as district and sessions judge of East Garo hills.

District and sessions judge of West Garo hills E Kharumnuid has been posted as district and sessions judge of West Jaintia hills district in the place of B Mawrie who has taken over as district and sessions judge of East Khasi hills district.

Similarly, FS Sangma, the chief judicial magistrate of East Garo hills district has been transferred as the chief judicial magistrate of West Khasi hills district in the place of B Joshi who is now the chief judicial magistrate of Ri-Bhoi district.

Meanwhile, B Khriam, the chief judicial magistrate of Ri-Bhoi district has been transferred as the chief judicial magistrate of East Garo Hills district.

R Rymbai, the judge of a government-constituted special court to try a damage suit filed against leaders of various pro-Inner Line Permit (ILP) groups and judicial magistrate first class of East Khasi Hills district has been transferred  as judicial magistrate first class of East Garo Hills district.

The judicial magistrate first class of Sohra civil sub division, La Ikynti Kharshiing is now the judicial magistrate first class of East Khasi Hills district. – By Our Reporter
