No fresh COVID-19 case detected

SHILLONG, FEB 1: No fresh coronavirus cases were reported in the state on Monday.

“Not a single case of COVID-19 was detected out of 1,000 test conducted today,” Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said.

He however urged the citizens not to be complacent but to follow strict protocols which include wearing masks, washing of hands and maintaining physical distancing.

Dr War also informed that 6 patients have recovered from the viral infection and all are from East Khasi Hills district.

So far, the state has detected a total of 13,764 COVID-19 cases out of which 62 are active cases, 13,556 recovered and 146 deaths.

East Khasi Hills has 51 active cases, Ri Bhoi 4, West Khasi Hills 3, West Jaintia Hills 2, East Jaintia Hills 1 and South West Garo Hills 1.

On the other hand, of the 3,37,242 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,23,478 were tested negative for the virus even as 8 persons are in institutional quarantine and 54 under home quarantine.

There are 88,210 entrants from outside the state.
