National People’s Party (NPP) state president and deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong has expressed confidence that the party will win both Shillong and Tura parliamentary constituencies in the Lok Sabha elections, polling of which passed off peacefully on Friday.
“As state president of the party, I have full confidence that the NPP will win both Shillong and Tura parliamentary constituencies,” Tynsong told reporters after casting his vote at Pynursla.
“As per reports we received, we are confident that both our candidates – Ampareen and Agatha will get a chance to represent the people of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo people in parliament,” he added.
He also thanked the voters for coming out in large numbers to vote.
