Police has registered a case against the arrested person.

“This will restrict the weaponry strength and operating space of insurgent outfits and their sympathizers and would facilitate efforts towards curbing extortion and illegal weapon dealing in the area. Most importantly, it shall provide a greater sense of security to citizens in the district where normalcy and peace is returning,” said Raghuvendra Kumar, SP of North Garo hills.

He said coordinated efforts by the police and Army have resulted in containment and deterrence of arms smuggling in the area.
