One arrested in Shillong bomb blast attack

SHILLONG, AUG 11: One person was arrested for allegedly being involved in the IED bomb attack at Laitumkhrah market.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Assistant Inspector General of Police (A) GK Iangrai informed that in connection with the IED explosion which transpired in Laitumkhrah on Tuesday, one person who is allegedly involved in the case has been arrested by police officials of East Khasi Hills District.

He further informed that the criminal case which was registered in Laitumkhrah Police Station has now been transferred to Crime Branch Police Station, East Khasi Hills, Shillong (CBPS) and the investigation of the case is in progress.
