The festival drew hundreds of orange lovers as oranges of different size and quality were available in the festival.

Riti Academy of Visual Arts chairman, Raphael Warjri said that Khasi Mandarin is the best oranges and this festival provides an opportunity to orange producers to directly sell their products to buyers without any interference from the middleman

Warjri said that the export of oranges to other parts of the county is minimal and only few traders from Assam buy the local oranges from the local producers even as though unofficially  large quantity of oranges is exported to neighbouring country  Bangladesh.

Warjri stressed the need to open a systematized market in the state where producers can sell their oranges to the customers.

Earlier addressing the inaugural function of the festival, State agriculture director KM Brahma asked the orange producers to utilise the opportunity of festival and exhibit their best products to the customers. He stated that the department of agriculture is taking every possible step to help the orange producers of the state.
