Community hall inaugurated

SHILLONG, JUNE 27:   Shillong Lok Sabha MP Vincent H Pala inaugurated the community hall of Rngi Jynriew Dong Rum, Lawjynriew, Nongthymmai on Monday in the presence of local MLA Jemino Mawthoh, former MLA Bindo M Lanong, local headman B Lyngshkor and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Pala stated that development can become a reality only through the active participation and co-operation of the stakeholders at different levels especially the public at the village level.

Pala also expressed hope that the newly inaugurated community hall becomes a public asset where the people, especially youths can engage in sports activities and vocational training so as to enable them to be free from restlessness, which more often than not leads people towards engaging in anti- social activities.

Mawthoh, meanwhile, stated that the community hall ensures that the locality elders and office bearers have access to a proper office which will pave way to the functioning of the locality in a proper manner.-By Our Reporter
