PCI for expert panel

SHILLONG, APR 21: The Presbyterian Church of India (PCI) has suggested the state government to constitute a panel of health care experts and monitoring panel to combat the COVID-19 outbreak in the state.
In a letter to the Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh, PCI senior administrative secretary Rev GS Lytan said, “We could see the government is trying it’s utmost best in handling the whole situation but there are still a lot more needed to address with at this juncture.”
In view of this, he said, “We suggest that
the panel of health care professional experts be constituted by the government with the terms of reference to do follow up on protocols of directives and advisories as and when necessary. Everyday updated briefings on the issue of COVID-19 pandemic should come out for the expert physicians.”
“We also suggest a COVID-19 Monitoring Panel be constituted to comprehensively frame proper modalities and guidelines in handling the situation of present pandemic. A panel comprises of public representatives, bureaucrats, legal experts, church leaders/religious leaders and social organisations,” Rev Lytan added.
He also urged the government to formulate the suggestions to incisively combat the menace of the pandemic.
