Police “lookout WT” against CM Jha

cmjha-pix1SHILLONG, JUNE 13: The Meghalaya police have sent a “lookout” WT crash message to located the controversial CMJ University self appointed chancellor to all states police headquarters throughout the country as it has failed to locate him. There is an arrest warrant against Jha who has been absconding every since the CMJ University-which he had founded- came under the scanner of the state CID.

Jha had also approached the Meghalaya high court through his counsel for an anticipatory bail, which was turned down. Interestingly, Jha counsel had claimed that his client was not absconding but was in Bihar attending to his ailing father and will come to Shillong as soon as the heath of his father improves.

However Meghalaya CID sources said that Jha is not in Bihar and suspects that he has already escaped to Nepal, which is bordering his home state.

The CMJ University got into trouble after Meghalaya governor RS Mooshahary- who is the university’s Visitor- filed an FIR against the institute for having flouted all the rules and also duping the students by awarding them degrees which are not recognized by the UGC. The institute was sealed by the CID and now Mooshahary wants the institute to be dissolved.

Even the UGC has issued an advisory to students warning them about the CMJ University.

The police have arrested couples of the CMJ University officials but Jha is still at large.

Jha’s Shillong bank account was frozen by the police long time ago.- By Our Reporter
