Violation, if any, shall be prosecuted under the relevant section of the law.

This order has been imposed after receiving information that a number of makeshift stalls have sprung up overnight all along the National Highway-6 catering to the stockpiling and sale of coal which has been offloaded from coal-laden trucks enroute for the weighbridge at 25th Mile Shangbangla, Nongpoh.

In another order, the Additional District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has issued a Prohibitory Order under Section 144CrPC prohibiting all unauthorized persons along with their private vehicles from stationing/loitering in and around the 25th Mile, Shangbangla weighbridge. Diversion of coal trucks away from the designated route viz. National Highway-6 without mandatory weighment shall likewise be deemed illegal and violators, if any, shall be prosecuted under the relevant Sections of the law.

This order has been issued in view that certain unscrupulous elements manifesting as middlemen have been found loitering and operating in and around the 25th Mile Shangbangla weighbridge with an ulterior motive of diverting the ongoing traffic of coal laden trucks from the mandatory weighment at weighbridge and payment of other taxes thereby causing huge loss of revenue to the government.
