SHILLONG, OCT 1: Miscreants tried to unsuccessfully set fire to a Sumo in at the Lailad in Fourth furlong on Tuesday night, the first day of the three days night road blockade called by the ngos, but were prevented by the public who raised hue and cry.
It is learnt that around five boys came and tried setting fire to the Sumo that was parked near the shops one and half hours after the night road blockade which started at 8 pm . However when the people saw the boys they raised hue and cry and the miscreants fled away seeing the public reaction.
Police and magistrate rushed to the location and managed to arrest one of the miscreants. Police have launched a manhunt to locate the others who fled away.-By Our Reporter
