As the Dalai Lama kept the audience, among who was Meghalaya governor KK Paul and chief minister Mukul Sangma, captivated to his lecture he also praised ancient India and said that the country had produced “wonderful thinkers and philosophers.”  To those who were unaware, he informed that the concept of quantum physics was present in the works of Nagarjuna, which were written more than 2000 years ago.

Informing that the psychology of ancient India was “highly advanced”, the Dalai Lama lamented that in comparison modern psychology was like “kindergarten” stuff. But, nonetheless, he acknowledged that India had made the “greatest contribution” in the field of knowledge in the world.

Saying that India has been practicing ‘Ahimsa’ (non-violence) for over 3000 years now, the Dalai Lama said that religious harmony is India’s tradition and he is a messenger of India’s tradition of Ahimsa and secular ethics.
