Review meeting held

SHILLONG, APR 24: A review meeting on the poll preparedness for the upcoming April 27 election in Williamnagar Assembly seat was held at Circuit House, Williamnagar in East Garo Hills District on Tuesday.

The meeting was chaired by IGP CRPF Shillong Prakash. D. IPS. DIG CRPF Guwahati Range JPK Ray, DIG Western Range Passi, DC Ramkumar, Police Observer  Anis Ahmad Ansari, and SP R. Momin attended the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by the senior Officers of CRPF, BSF, ITBP and SSB who have been deployed for election duty. Various other unit commanders of the security forces were also present.

The security network for a peaceful poll was discussed.  It was decided to instill confidence in the minds of the voters by area domination, route marches, flag marches, meetings etc. The IGP insisted on seamless communication network to be established.

The induction of forces well before the poll day was discussed. All the men were advised to adopt a voter friendly approach. A control room has been established in the District Headquarters for effective communication.The IGP CRPF drew the attention towards medical and emergency facilities during the poll day. The officers also visited a few interior areas.
