TURA, MAY 11: Police today seized Rs. 5 lakh from a private vehicle, which was speeding towards Bajengdoba from Tura. The vehicle was stopped by police personnel in the presence of magistrate Dolrich G. Momin, who was deputed for duty at Jengjal.
The police personnel were checking all vehicles as there was VIP movement in the district in the run up to the upcoming Lok Sabha bye-election. Returning officer Pravin Bakshi confirmed the seizure but said he does not have detailed information as yet. “We are investigating the matter”, he said in a text message.-From Our Correspondent
