Shillong, Sept 13: The Jaintia Youth Federation – Jowai City (JYF-JC) has demanded the West Jaintia hills district administration should issue direction to all shopkeepers to install a commodities “price-list-board” in their shops for public conveniences.
“We have demanded that installing of price list board should be made mandatory in all the shops in the districts,” JYF-JC president Khroo Shylla said.
According to Shylla, the public has complaint against the failure of the shopkeepers to keep a price list board listing the exact price of the commodities.
The deputy commissioner has assured the delegation of issuing such direction so that the shopkeeper do not take undue advantage .
The JYF also warned all the shopkeepers in the two districts of Jaintia hills including Jowai, Khliehriat, Lad Rymbai and others that stern actions will be taken against them if they are indulging in over charging of essential commodities. – By Our Reporter
