SHILLONG, MAR 2: The state on Wednesday recorded 2 COVID-19 related deaths, taking the number of fatalities to 1,580 even as 19 have tested positive for the virus and the total active cases now stand at 158.
The fresh cases include 8 from East Khasi Hills, 6 Ri Bhoi and 1 each in East Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, West Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills.
A total of 19 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
So far, the state has detected a total of 93,516 COVID-19 cases out of which 158 are active cases, 91,778 recovered and 1,580 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 51 followed by Ri Bhoi 28, West Jaintia Hills 12, North Garo Hills 15, West Garo Hills 12, West Khasi Hills 10, South West Garo Hills 6, South West Khasi Hills 9, East Garo Hills 6, South Garo Hills 4, East Jaintia Hills 3 and Eastern West Khasi Hills 2.
