State records 2 new COVID deaths

SHILLONG, NOV 18: The state on Thursday recorded two new COVID-19 related deaths, taking the number of fatalities to 1,467 in the state.

 

According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, the two cases were reported from East Khasi Hills district.

 

Dr War said the state has also detected 33 new COVID-19 cases. These include 28 in East Khasi Hills, 3 West Khasi Hills and 2 West Garo Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 26 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

 

Of these, 22 are from East Khasi Hills, 2 West Khasi Hills and 2 East Garo Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 84,150 COVID-19 cases out of which 271 are active cases, 82,412 recovered and 1,467 deaths.

 

East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 with 194 followed by West Garo Hills with 20 cases and Ri Bhoi 15.

 

There are  14 in East Garo Hills, 11 West Jaintia Hills, 11 West Khasi Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills, 1 South Garo Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.
