State records 33 new COVID-19 cases

SHILLONG, NOV 6: The state on Saturday recorded 33 new COVID-19 cases taking the total active cases to 377.

 

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said 26 cases have been detected in East Khasi Hills district, 3 West Khasi Hills district, 2 East Garo Hills district and 2 Ri Bhoi district.

 

Dr War also informed that 47 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

 

Of these, 32 are from East Khasi Hills, 9 West Khasi Hills, 2 East Garo Hills, 2 Ri Bhoi, 1 South West Khasi Hills and 1 West Garo Hills.

 

He said the state has also recorded no new cases of COVID-19 deaths during the past 24 hours.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 83,827 COVID-19 cases out of which 377 are active cases, 81,993 recovered and 1,457 deaths.

 

East Khasi Hills has the highest active COVID-19 cases with 263 followed by West Khasi Hills with 37 cases and West Garo Hills 23.

 

There are 17 in Ri Bhoi, 16 West Jaintia Hills, 6 East Garo Hills, 5 South West Khasi Hills, 5 East Jaintia Hills, 3 North Garo Hills and 2 South West Garo Hills. South Garo Hills on the other hand recorded zero cases of COVID-19.
