State records 37 new COVID cases

SHILLONG, NOV 17: The state on Wednesday recorded 37 new COVID-19 cases taking the total active cases to 266.

 

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said 20 cases have been detected in East Khasi Hills, 7 East Garo Hills, 4 West Garo Hills, 3 Ri Bhoi, 1 East Jaintia Hills, 1 West Jaintia Hills and 1 West Khasi Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 34 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

 

Of these, 25 are from East Khasi Hills, 5 Ri Bhoi, 2 West Khasi Hills, 1 West Garo Hills and 1 East Garo Hills.

 

He said the state has recorded zero COVID-19 deaths during the past 24 hours.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 84,117 COVID-19 cases out of which 266 are active cases, 82,386 recovered and 1,465 deaths.

 

East Khasi Hills has the highest active COVID-19 cases with 190 followed by West Garo Hills with 18 cases and East Garo Hills with 16.

 

There are 15 in Ri Bhoi, 11 West Jaintia Hills, 10 West Khasi Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills, 1 South West Garo Hills and 1 South Garo Hills.
