SHILLONG, OCT 4: A kick-off meeting amongst the JICA Study Team, Japan, jointly organized by TEPSCO, TEPCO Holding Inc. and TEPCO Power Grid Inc. and officers of Meghalaya Power Generation Corporation Limited (MePGCL) in the presence of PS Thangkhiew, Additional Chief Secretary and Chairman cum-Managing Director MeECL was held on Tuesday.
The meeting was held to discuss action plan for the ‘Preparatory survey of Umiam-Umtru Stage-III Power Station Renovation Project, Kyrdemkulai’. The purpose of this survey is the renovation and modernization of Umiam-Umtru Stage-III Power Station, Kyrdemkulai. It may be mentioned that the Umiam-Umtru Stage-III Power Station was commissioned in the year 1979 and had already crossed the useful life of 35 years. The survey is expected to be completed in March 2018. This was informed by the Public Relation Officer, MeECL, Shillong.
