TCSU formed in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, APR 14: The Trinamool Congress Students’ Union (TCSU) Meghalaya on Thursday was constituted with an objective to look into the issues concerning the youth of the state.

 

Bansharailang Pyngrope was also elected as the president of the TCSU and Changkam Sangma as vice president

 

The TCSU has also elected Bansharailang Pyngrope as its president and Changkam Sangma as vice president.

 

The other elected members include Landingstar Nongbri, Browline Sangma, Allian B Marak and Damiyo Lamare as general secretaries, Alok M Sangma, Matsram Sangma, Suraj Marak and Daphne Pyngrope as secretaries.

 

Speaking to media persons, Bansharailang said that today hundreds of students have donated galvanised sheets to 14 villages in Mawkynrew who were affected due to heavy rain and storm.

 

“The objective of the TCSU is to look into issues of the youths in the state especially when it comes to education as India is the country with most youths hence there is a need to improve the quality of education in the state and the country as a whole” he said.

 

He said that there is a need to improve the quality of education from grassroots level, in villages and the state as a whole where children need to acquire quality and equal education.

 

He added that the youths of the state have the responsibility to make sure that every child receives equal education so that every youth is aware of climate changes, overpopulation, and unemployment.

 

“We need to take responsibility to educate our generation and the generation to come so that we the youths can protect our interest and the state interest as a whole” he added.

 

Bansharailang said that Meghalaya tops the list with most dropouts in the country hence, the state needs quality leaders who will be able to lead the state especially in terms of education.

 

He also urged the youth of the state to come and join the Trinamool Congress Student’s Union so that together the youths can overcome all challenges that the youth and the state as a whole is facing.
