Mukul to have 2 deputies & 3 women

SHILLONG, MAR10: The new Congress-led government in Meghalaya will have two deputy chief ministers and three women ministers.

According to information available with this website, the two deputy chief ministers to assists chief minister Mukul Sangma will be Rowell Lyngdoh and Roytre C Laloo. The three certainties from the fairer sex are Ampareen Lyngdoh, Deborah Marak and Roshan Warjri.

The five apart, others who are going to be part of Team Mukul include former ministers H. D. R. Lyngdoh, Prestone Tynsong and A. L Hek. Reliable sources said the new faces in the ministry will be Zenith Sangma, brother of the chief minister, Clement Marak, who defeated the leader of the opposition in the outgoing Assembly Conrad Sangma, and Sniawbhalang Dhar.

The composition of the new cabinet will be path breaking because for the first time in the 40-odd years of Meghalaya, there will be as many as three women ministers. Notably, the 60-member state Assembly will also have the highest number of women representatives in its history with four members.

There will also be a semblance of continuity with the two deputy chief ministers, H. D. R. Lyngdoh, Tynsong, Ampareen, and Hek all set to retain their ministerial berths. (By Our Reporter)
