Three bodies recovered

SHILLONG, FEB 6: The bodies of the three contractors of MeECL who were abducted by militants were recovered by the police from  Darechikgre along Daribokgre and Sakalgre in West Garo Hills, about 20 km from  Nokrek on Thursday evening.West Garo hills SP MK Singh informed that the police search parties had discovered the bodies at around 4 pm on Thursday ending speculations that they may be alive.

Contractor Rutherford Marak, a resident of Araimile locality, who was abducted on Tuesday from Sasatgre along one Semington M Sangma and one more person were abducted by militants. The fourth contractor Manseng Marak has somehow managed to escape with bullet injuries and is undergoing treatment in the Tura Civil hospital.

Singh said that the magisterial inquest was completed at Daribokgre. Postmortem will be carried out on the bodies, he informed– By Our Reporter
