Tynsong appeals to HNLC to come back for peace talks

2 min read

Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday said that the government is still inviting the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) to come back for peace talks.

Speaking to reporters, Tynsong said, ā€œThe invitation is on and the door is still open, it is up to them (HNLC).ā€

ā€œI will not comment anything on that as we are still inviting them to come to the table of negotiation, you have already started so if possible, rethink your decision or recall back your decision but if they feel that no it is not necessary then again I said to you the law has to prevail,ā€ he added.

On the recent IED blast by the HNLC, the deputy CM said that investigation into the matter is ongoing.

ā€œI think you know well handling all these things is not at all proper for me to detail everything so let me just tell you one thing, the law is there and the investigation is on and even about who are more people involved in the incident that investigation is still on so I should not say anything however our police force is in the field and we will ensure everybody is saved,ā€ he said.
