UALA ultras camp busted

SHILLONG, FEB 11: In North Garo hills district, security forces busted  a makeshift camp of the United A’chik Liberation Army (UALA). But the militants of this newly floated group manage to give the police a slip. Police said that around twenty militants escape.

The Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and the Combat Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) commandos raided the hideout at Ambare Chiring hills under Mendipathar police station.

Meghalaya Inspector General of Police (operation) GHP Raju said, “We have busted a makeshift camp of the UALA at Ambare Chiring hills nearby Damas, but a group of militants who were camping at the camp escape before the arrival security forces.”

Two numbers of detonators, four numbers of fuse wires, and incriminating documents and other materials, including food items were seized from the camp during the search at the camp, he said.

Raju informed manhunt is on to nab the UALA militants who had managed to escape.- By Our Reporter
