SHILLONG, AUG 6: The East Khasi hills police arrested the Rangbah Dong Gilbert Pdah (45)of Mawutieng village under Sohryngkham for his involvement in forcing Halorsing Kharumnuid to eat dog excreta alleging the victim practiced witchcraft. Pdah has been remanded to two days police custody said East Khasi hills SP M Kharkhrang Tuesday.
Earlier police had arrested seven people who are involved in confining, assaulting and forcing Kharumnuid to eat dog excreta just because they suspected him of practicing witchcraft.
The arrested have been booked under under several sections of the IPC including section 435, 353, 342, 326, 114, 117. The accused have been identified as Broswel Pyngrope (49), Elbinus Mylliemngap (37), Sanil Mylliemngap (25), Rani Kharumnuid (25), Mildret Kharmumnuid (46), Khrawbor Kharumnuid (21) and Johny Kharumnuid (35).- By Our Reporter
