SHILLONG, APR 15: The Ri Bhoi district deputy commissioner on Tuesday directed all IMFL retail shops/ bars/ hotels/ bonded warehouses/ bottling units/ country made spirit shops/ outstills/ breweries/ canteens etc located in Khanapara, Baridua, Jorabat, and Byrnihat to close on the April 23 & 29 in view of the voting for the Lok Sabha 2014 to be held in Assam.
It may be mentioned that the Chief Electoral Officers of Assam and Meghalaya had agreed to extend cooperation during the voting in the two north eastern states. Meghalaya went to polls on April 9 but voting two more rounds of voting for Lok Sabha elections in Assam still remains.- By Our Reporter
