SHILLONG, MAR 30: The Association for Democracy and Empowerment –ADE- has reschedule its 12-hours Garo hills bandh to March 7 in view of the year ending which it said might directly and indirectly affect the economic wellbeing of Garo hills if the bandh is slated on March 31.
The ADE also said the bandh is being rescheduled as it got appealed from senior citizens and religious leaders. On Sunday the West Garo hills deputy commissioner had also appealed to the ADE to withdraw the bandh in view of the financial year.
The ADE called the bandh to protest against the alleged police vandalism in the ADE office. It said that the bandh was called not only against the vandalism in the ADE office but also against all the police atrocities in Garo hills.- By Our Reporter
