2 drug traffickers arrested in Shillong, revolver seized

SHILLONG, JUNE 16: Two drug peddlers were arrested with heroin and a country made revolver from the city on Thursday.

Eldikinstar Sohtun and T James Seiminthang were arrested from Nongshiliang by ANTF East Khasi Hills along with officers of Rynjah and Laitumkhrah police stations, district police chief Sylvester Nongtnger said on Friday.

A total of 40 soap cases of heroin weighing 423.09 grams were recovered from their possession. 2 mobile phones, one bike (ML 05 R 5271), 1 pan card and 1 EPIC were also seized by the police. he said.

A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at the Rynjah police station.

The SP further informed that following interrogation, further search was conducted today morning at the residence of Eldikinstar Sohtun at Mawpat.

1 country made revolver, 7 rounds of 0.22 live ammunition, 6 rounds of .38 live ammunition, 1 used bullet, 5 rounds of 12 bore live ammunition, 1 mobile phone, cash Rs 2 lakh, 1 air gun, 2 Mahindra Thar, 1 Maruti Zen, 1 Maruti 800 and 1 Chevrolet Beat were recovered from his residence.
