50-years man shot dead

SHILLONG, SEPT 16:  Fifty years old Minseng Marak of Rongjaleng village about twelve kms from Bajengdoba in North Garo hills was shot dead by unidentified miscreants on Sunday night. According to police, the headman of Rongjaleng village reported the incident to the police Monday morning. The headman informed the police that the incident occurred at around 8 pm on Sunday evening and there were four assailants.

Police said that the officer in charge of Bajengdoba police station has left for the place of occurrence to investigate into the incident.

In another incident on Monday morning, security forces and suspected militants of the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) exchanged fire in Meghalaya’s South Garo Hills district Monday morning.

Police said on Monday morning when security forces were conducting insurgency operation at Warima village, in Durama forest area, GNLA militants and police exchanged fire.

However, no casualties were reported on either side police said.“One pistol, one identity card were recovered from the area. Search operation is on and a case has been registered,” police said.-By Our Reporter

    If there was no casualty do you mean to say that the weapon was thrown by the militants or is it police propaganda and the pistol is thrown by the police to show a fake encounter…All bogus news…Police are too busy extorting…I would urge all people around the State to take photographs of the extorting cops and paste them on face book…then we shall see what their IGP’s and DGP does…or will they pretend they know nothing?? People have to come out unitedly against this most corrupt regime…
