The mysterious death of 22-year old Pinky Rai and the disappearance of her one and half years old son is taking a dramatic twist with the deceased brother Pankaj Rai filing a counter FIR at the Madanrything police station alleging foul play.
Pinky Rai is said to have gone missing on August 16 along with her one and half year old son from Demthring. It so happened that on August 17, when her husband Pappu Rai filed a missing person report her naked body was fished out from Sonapani in Mawprem. Nobody could, however, trace the where about of her son.
On hearing of Pinky’s death, her family including her brother Pankaj Rai came rushing from Bihar on Monday. On arrival to Shillong, Pankaj filed a counter FIR with the Madanrything police station hinting that he suspected foul play in the death of his sister.
Pointing his finger at the Pinky’s husband and her in-laws, Pankaj want the police to investigate the murder angle.
Post mortem of body has already been conducted and the police are not saying anything at this juncture. A police officer dealing with the case said, “We will wait for the post mortem report and then act.”
Nobody knows about the whereabouts of the one and half year’s old child who had gone missing along with his mother. Some have expressed surprise over the naked body of Pinky as she was found without even a shred of clothes. If she had been drowned at least some cloth would have remained on her body, they felt.- By Our Reporter
